What do you give it?
Access to your Gmail through Google OAuth. When you connect, Mailient reads a sample of your recent sent emails, up to 40, and builds the profile from them.
It is a sample, not your whole history, and there is no style form to fill in. You can rebuild the profile later from your settings, which reads a fresh sample.
What do you get?
A draft, not a sent message. Ask Mailient's assistant for a reply and it is saved as a Gmail draft on the thread; the draft button on an email inside Mailient writes one for you to edit.
On paid plans, the daily morning sweep also saves drafts in your Gmail for the emails that need a reply.
By default nothing is sent until you approve it.
How is this different from pasting a thread into ChatGPT?
Pasting a thread into a chat works, but the chat starts from a generic register each time unless you describe your style yourself. A voice profile is built once from your sent mail and used on every draft.
The difference is rarely the model. It is whether the model is told how you actually write.
What are the limits?
A voice profile copies how you write, not what you know. Treat every draft as a starting point and check the facts in it before you approve.

- It will not know a price, a promise or a detail that is not in the thread or your instructions.
- If most of your recent sent mail is very short or automated, the profile has less to work from.
- By default nothing sends without your approval, so a draft that misses your tone costs an edit, not a relationship.
