How Mailient works
Most email tools make you faster at your inbox. Mailient does the inbox and hands you the result. It runs on a schedule, so the work is finished before you sit down.

Reads
On a schedule, whether or not you have a tab open, it reads what arrived across Gmail — and Slack and Notion if you have connected them. Not the most recent page of messages: the whole picture, including the thread from nine days ago that is still unresolved.

Decides
It separates what genuinely needs a human from what does not, and attaches a reason. This is the part that is hard and the part most tools skip, because a shortlist you cannot trust is just another inbox.

Does the work
Replies get drafted in your company's voice. Scheduling questions get answered with times that are actually free. Threads that went quiet get a follow-up written. Notion trackers get updated to match what was agreed.

Hands it to you
One briefing in the morning with what was handled and the few things that need you — not a notification stream. The drafts are waiting in Gmail. You approve, edit or bin them.

What it plugs into
Gmail is required, because the mailbox is the job. Google Calendar, Cal.com, Notion and Slack are optional context — connect them when you want Mailient to know more. Full detail on each is in integrations.
What it will not do
- Send without asking. Approval is the default. Autonomous sending is something you switch on, not off.

- Write what it cannot know. If the answer lives in your head or on a call, it flags the thread instead of guessing.
Questions
How does an AI email assistant work?
It connects to your mailbox with your permission, reads what arrives, decides what needs your attention, and produces work for you to approve — drafted replies, proposed meeting times, follow-ups on threads that went quiet. Mailient does this on a schedule rather than when you ask, so the work is already done when you open your laptop.
Do I have to change my email client?
No. Mailient works on top of your existing Gmail rather than replacing it. Your address, history and filters stay where they are, and drafts are written back into Gmail, so you can keep using Gmail, Superhuman, Shortwave or anything else.
Does it send email on its own?
Not by default. Replies are saved as Gmail drafts and wait for your approval. Autonomous sending exists as a per-agent setting, but it is off unless you deliberately turn it on.
How long does setup take?
About ten minutes. You connect Gmail, it reads a few weeks of mail to learn who matters and how you write, you give it your website so it learns your company's voice, and then you read real drafts to your real threads before paying anything.
What does Mailient not do?
It is Gmail-first, so Outlook is not supported today. It is built for one founder rather than a team, so there are no multi-seat shared inboxes. There is no meeting notetaker. And it will not write the email that depends on something only in your head — good assistants flag those rather than guessing.
